This policy covers the Timesheet Tracker website (timesheet-tracker.com) and the Timesheet Tracker Windows app, listed in the Microsoft Store as “Time Tracker & Timesheet - AI for Jira”. Questions: help@timesheet-tracker.com.
The app
What the app records, on your PC
While it runs, the app records the name of the active application, the window title, the domain of the active browser tab, and when your computer was idle or locked. It uses this to rebuild your working day and match it to Jira issues. This activity log is stored locally on your computer. It is not uploaded to us.
What the app never records
- No screenshots or screen recordings.
- No keystrokes and no clipboard contents.
- No page contents and no full URLs. Only the domain of the browser tab is kept.
When you click “Sort my day”
Matching Jira keys in window titles, URLs and git branch names happens locally, without AI. Only when you click Sort my day does the app send the blocks it could not match to our AI server, which forwards them to OpenAI to get suggestions. Our server does not log window titles, and OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. For each block it sends:
- the window title, with emails, long numbers and similar identifiers masked;
- the app name and the domain (not the full address);
- the duration of the block.
Full URLs, page content, screenshots, keystrokes and your Jira token are never sent to the AI. If you would rather nothing is sent, switch on No-AI mode. Matching keeps working locally and you assign the remaining blocks yourself.
Jira
Your Jira site address and access token are stored on your computer and are used only to talk directly to your Jira site (Jira Cloud or Jira Server / Data Center). The app reads the issues it needs for matching and, when you confirm a day, writes the worklogs you approved. Those worklogs then live in your Jira and are governed by your organization’s Jira settings.
Exports
CSV exports are saved where you choose on your computer. We don’t receive a copy.
Deleting your data
Technical logs
To find and fix problems, the app sends technical logs to our logging service (Grafana Cloud): app events and errors, the app and Windows versions, and your computer’s name. They do not include window titles, URLs, the contents of your activity log, worklog texts or your Jira token. The app also keeps the last 7 days of these logs in a local folder, which you can open from Settings → About.
Your activity history lives in the app’s local storage on your PC. Uninstalling the app removes it. Worklogs you already sent to Jira stay in Jira and can be edited or deleted there.
The website
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the page language and the page you signed up from. We use it to tell you when the app is available and, rarely, to share important early-access news. We don’t sell it or share it for advertising. You can ask us to remove your address at any time by writing to help@timesheet-tracker.com.
Analytics and cookies
The website does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we’ll update this page first and prefer cookie-free, privacy-friendly tools.
Service providers
The site is static and hosted on GitHub Pages. The waitlist form is handled by a small service running on Cloudflare. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Like any web host, these providers may process your IP address and browser details in their logs to deliver the page.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. In practice, the only personal data we hold is your waitlist email. Write to us and we’ll handle your request.
Changes
If we change how the app or the website handles data, we’ll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
